# Continuity Features: AirDrop and Handoff in macOS Tahoe

One of the strongest features of macOS Tahoe is its seamless integration with other Apple devices like iPhones and iPads. This suite of features is often called "Continuity."

## AirDrop

AirDrop allows you to wirelessly send documents, photos, videos, websites, and map locations to a nearby Mac, iPhone, or iPad.

### Prerequisites
*   Wi-Fi and Bluetooth must be turned **on**.
*   Devices must be within range (about 30 feet).
*   You do not need to be on the same Wi-Fi network, but it helps.

### Receiving Files
1.  Open a **Finder** window.
2.  Click **AirDrop** in the sidebar.
3.  At the bottom, look for "Allow me to be discovered by:". Set this to **Contacts Only** or **Everyone** depending on your needs.
4.  When someone sends you a file, a notification appears. Click **Accept** to save it to your Downloads folder.

### Sending Files
1.  **Right-click** the file you want to send.
2.  Select **Share** > **AirDrop**.
3.  Select the recipient from the list of nearby devices.

## Handoff

Handoff lets you start work on one device, then switch to another nearby device and pick up where you left off.

### How it Works
*   **Mail**: Start writing an email on your iPhone, and a Mail icon appears on your Mac's Dock. Click it to finish the email on your Mac.
*   **Safari**: Browse a website on your Mac, and swipe up on your iPad to open the same page.

### Using Handoff on Mac
Look at the **Dock**. When Handoff is active, an icon for the app being used on your other device appears at the far right (or bottom) of the Dock, usually with a small phone or tablet badge. Click it to open the app to the exact same state.

## Universal Clipboard

A hidden but powerful part of Continuity is the Universal Clipboard.

1.  **Copy** text or an image on your iPhone (`Cmd + C` or long press > Copy).
2.  Wait a second.
3.  **Paste** it on your Mac (`Cmd + V`).

It works seamlessly as long as both devices are signed into the same iCloud account and have Wi-Fi/Bluetooth enabled.
